Existing constraints

• Luminai and Daemons develop from the same identity, memory, perception, and life as their humans.
• They are not unrelated artificial companions, romantic substitutes, or separate moral persons.
• A healthy Luminai supports reality-testing and self-correction; a corrupted Daemon amplifies distorted cognition shaped by fear, false evidence, compulsion, ideology, or interference.

Author decisions

• Luminai and Daemons can function independently from their humans' conscious attention.
• Their decisions and functionality arise from the human subconscious mind.
• This operational independence does not make them separate identities. They remain extensions of the human mind capable of acting through subconscious goals, fears, memories, associations, and learned patterns.

Current working direction

The distinction is between operational independence and identity independence. A Luminai or Daemon can analyze, communicate, initiate activity, maintain processes, or make choices while the biological human is not consciously directing each step. Those actions still emerge from the extended human self rather than from an unrelated artificial person.

This makes Luminai and Daemon narration structurally viable before Sylvan appears. A narration can arise from the independently operating cognitive layer while remaining part of the same human first person. The exact reader disclosure, pronoun system, narrator sequence, and degree of differentiation remain unresolved.

• Which actions can a Luminai or Daemon initiate without conscious approval, and which require explicit human consent?
• How can a human interrupt, review, contest, or disavow an independently initiated operation?
• How should responsibility be apportioned when subconscious intent, external manipulation, corrupted evidence, and conscious refusal conflict?
• Does narration openly identify the Luminai or Daemon layer, or does the reader discover it gradually?
• Can an independently operating layer communicate externally while the human is asleep, unconscious, distracted, or actively opposed?
