Wildlife Meme Adventures Image-Determined Format

The retained portrait template has been incorrectly treated as a mandatory output size. That is wrong for photographs whose composition calls for landscape, square, or another proportion.

Each Wildlife Meme Adventures image must be designed from the supplied photograph. The photograph determines the appropriate orientation, aspect ratio, crop, panel structure, and use of negative space. The retained template supplies recurring identity and visual language, not a fixed canvas.

Decision

Image-determined format is now a hard production and approval rule.

Inspect and record the source photograph's dimensions, orientation, and aspect ratio before choosing a design.
Default to preserving the source orientation and aspect ratio when they are compositionally strong.
Do not automatically force a photograph into 2:3 portrait, square, three bands, or any previously successful episode layout.
Use a different aspect ratio only when the image itself supports a deliberate crop or the author explicitly selects the change. Record the reason and protected details.
Adapt typography, ribbon placement, joke structure, borders, panels, and graphic motifs to the chosen canvas.
Changing orientation requires a fresh composition and reading order. Do not merely resize, rotate, or rearrange portrait modules on a landscape canvas, or landscape modules on a portrait canvas.
The retained reference controls the recognizable Wildlife Meme Adventures identity, aged editorial finish, hierarchy, and material quality. It does not control output dimensions or orientation.
Generate the vault preview at the selected aspect ratio with the longest edge at 768 pixels. Do not stretch or force every poster into 512 × 768.
Reject an image when a default template size weakens the photograph, removes important context, or makes the design feel imposed rather than image-responsive.

Corrected episode

THE SIGNAL CHECK uses a 2050 × 1538 source panorama, approximately 4:3 landscape. The portrait drafts were rejected because they treated the retained reference as the canvas. A later 4:3 draft was also rejected because it still behaved like the portrait poster rearranged sideways. The corrected version uses a thin horizontal identity header and a left-to-right signal-versus-rating story across the open sky, letting the mountain-to-city-to-ocean panorama determine both the canvas and the reading order.

Dynamic-layout clarification

The author confirmed that image-determined design applies to every episode, not only when orientation or aspect ratio changes.

Treat each source photograph as a new layout problem.
Inspect subject position, gaze or motion, horizon, negative space, visual weight, habitat structure, protected details, and natural text zones before placing any graphic element.
Derive hierarchy, alignment, reading direction, panels, borders, ribbon position, and joke placement from those visible conditions.
Two images with the same aspect ratio do not automatically receive the same layout.
Reuse a prior layout only when the new photograph independently supports it, and record the image-specific reason.
Fixed series identity is limited to the restrained umbrella branding, factual boundaries, quality standard, and overall editorial character. Layout remains adaptive.

Caption punctuation clarification

The approved Wildlife Meme Adventures caption style does not use em dashes. Use a period, comma, colon, semicolon, or parentheses instead, depending on the sentence.

Vault impact

This decision supersedes fixed-size language in the active workflow. Earlier episode records retain their historical output dimensions.
