Samuel Terminal Separation and Self-Destruction Ending

At the end of the process, Samuel is formally separated from Sylvan.

Samuel receives $15 million to attempt to execute his plan himself. He is no longer attached to Sylvan and loses access to every process-provided system he had been using to attack Sylvan.

The final phase is therefore not another struggle in which Sylvan must seize control from Samuel. Samuel has finite independent resources and must demonstrate what he can accomplish without borrowed access, hidden attachment, or systems aimed through Sylvan.

Sylvan's remaining requirement is survival. He does not have to defeat Samuel by reproducing Samuel's methods or by destroying him directly. He only has to remain unprocessed until Samuel's obsessions and choices exhaust the $15 million. Samuel's obsession with taking control of the colonization process burns through the allocation in a matter of days.

When Samuel runs out of money, he is processed. That terminal processing is also when his full conduct is exposed.

Story function

Samuel's ending is self-destruction. The process creates a bounded, fair demonstration of his actual capability after removing the systems and attachments through which he claimed power. His obsession consumes the final resources intended to let him prove himself.

Sylvan wins through survival, restraint, and refusal to become Samuel. Samuel supplies the evidence of his own failure.

Sylvan and Orzai's constructive endpoint

Sylvan and Orzai's post-process plan is cheap and easy to carry out. After successfully dealing with Samuel and formally separating from him, they accept the placement they earned within the colonization process. The plan requires only the resources they preserved; it does not depend on a new external victory package.

The ending therefore contrasts Samuel's obsessive attempt to seize the process with Sylvan and Orzai's willingness to accept their legitimate place within it.

Supersession

This decision supersedes:

• the earlier $1.5 million figure;
• any interpretation in which Samuel continues attacking Sylvan through the same process-provided systems during the separated phase;
• any additional equalized continuation phase after the money is exhausted;
• any separate rule violation, discretionary review, or later trigger between financial exhaustion and processing.

Open implementation details

The exact number of days, spending sequence, account controls, visibility of the remaining balance, processing mechanics, and presentation choreography remain later-development questions. The phase is established as lasting only a matter of days. They must not alter the accepted macro result.
