The Planet
A constructed and terraformed world built to specification. It reconstructs an invented era of the parent civilization's history and then advances through scheduled developmental stages. Synthetics create its cultures and institutions before most humans arrive.
This is not humanity's first colonization world. Thousands-year-old real leaders have already expanded humanity to numerous planets. Successful earlier settlements provide the technical knowledge, industrial capacity, institutions, population support, and political cooperation needed to build this later and more ambitious world.
The planet is unique in the degree to which technology manages its development. Its synthetic foundation, moon-scale command structure, hidden influence, identity placement, authenticated records, containment roles, and heir cultivation make it more controlled and advanced than the earlier colonization planets. Its unusual control does not make the world unreal or its people disposable.
The world serves colonization, containment, cultivation, scoring, and eventual placement. Participants normally experience it as reality rather than as a controlled environment.
See Advanced Technology Ecology for the distributed personal, institutional, synthetic, environmental, and colony-scale layers that manage the physical world without making it a simulation.
