Book One Architecture Workshop
[!IMPORTANT] Historical workshop record. Its unresolved questions have been folded into Dynamic Story Workshop, the only active assessment surface. Do not update this file as a parallel workshop.
This workshop historically preserved the completed RW ending decisions and developed the missing path from Book One's opening to that ending.
The 2026-09-17 focused reassessment integrated the independent Resistance and Converging Revelation material into BA-02, BA-07, BA-09, and BA-10. It did not add an eleventh module or reopen the completed RW foundation.
The modules are dependency ordered, not a promise that every question must remain separate. Ask one author gate at a time, record the answer in a dated session, propagate accepted canon, and then reassess later modules.
Priority 1 — Make the contest legible
- [ ] BA-01: Define “take Sylvan.” Establish the exact observable victory condition, permitted route, failure state, and institutional safeguard.
- [ ] BA-02: Specify Samuel's lie to Konrad. Define the false account, its credible evidence, the concealed truth, and why that truth would have changed Konrad's choice.
- [ ] BA-03: Activate the forty-second-birthday clock. Establish when the story begins, who knows the deadline, and how the pressure becomes visible.
Priority 2 — Build the human story
- [ ] BA-04: Choose the Book One opening. Select viewpoint, ordinary objective, first disruption, and first discrepancy.
- [ ] BA-05: Build the indispensable middle. Choose four to six escalating episodes that teach the capacities required by the ending.
- [ ] BA-06: Earn Sylvan and Orzai's final partnership. Map their disagreement, independent decisions, costs, repair, and final leadership transition.
Priority 3 — Make the ending dramatic
- [ ] BA-07: Order the evidence and exposure. Separate public, affected-group, protected, and private revelations into a dramatic sequence.
- [ ] BA-08: Give George his final choice. Decide what he does when Samuel makes him the scapegoat and what that choice costs.
- [ ] BA-09: Give Konrad his final move. Decide how he uses his retained influence when Samuel's century-long lie collapses.
Priority 4 — Make Book One buildable
- [ ] BA-10: Lock the Book One sequence contract. Assemble the accepted objective, opening, reversals, relationship turns, revelations, deadline, collapse, and placement into a scene-ready order.
Completion gate
- [ ] A reader can understand what the antagonists are trying to accomplish and how success is measured.
- [ ] The forty-second-birthday deadline creates visible pressure from the opening onward.
- [ ] Every indispensable middle episode changes capability, relationship, evidence, or available choices.
- [ ] Sylvan, Orzai, George, and Konrad each make consequential choices in the final movement.
- [ ] The evidence reaches each audience in an intentional order.
- [ ] A scene writer can create packets without inventing missing macro causality.
Preserved foundation
The completed reassessment workshop remains authoritative at its accepted depth. This workshop implements its consequences; it does not reopen them.
The focused addendum is 07 QA/2026-09-17 - Resistance and Revelation Reassessment. The Resistance must retain an indispensable discovery of its own, and proposed control mechanics remain unresolved until the author accepts them.
