Resistance Ark Infographic Visual Review
Verdict
Approved as the canonical explanatory infographic for the Resistance's established black-and-orange ark identity. It may be used as a visual reference for palette, ark symbolism, information hierarchy, and preservation tone. It does not establish literal architecture or a complete membership taxonomy.
Scorecard
| Category | Score | Evidence |
|---|
| Identity | 5 | No named character identity is depicted or altered. |
| Age and anatomy | 5 | Human figures remain generalized silhouettes with no load-bearing anatomical errors. |
| Silhouette and wardrobe | 4 | Survivor silhouettes and cloaked forms communicate collective endurance; exact clothing remains interpretive. |
| Role and emotion | 5 | The group reads as protective, archival, and resilient rather than triumphant or supremacist. |
| Project style | 5 | Monumental gothic science-fantasy architecture, dark ground, and luminous information geometry match the project system. |
| Palette and light | 5 | Black and orange remain dominant and carry the established Resistance identity clearly. |
| Composition | 5 | The ark anchors a legible radial diagram and the preservation message remains readable at full size. |
| Artifact control | 4 | Text is legible and icons are coherent; dense fine detail requires the full-size or public derivative rather than a small thumbnail. |
| Canon safety | 4 | The core symbolism is established; literal scenery, insignia, and participant labels are explicitly recorded as visual interpretation. |

The Story homepage originally reused the landscape editorial-image crop, which cut off the top and bottom of this portrait infographic. The Resistance figure now uses a dedicated portrait-media rule that preserves the source aspect ratio and displays the complete title, ark, participants, and closing preservation statement. Other editorial images retain their intentional landscape crops.
Rendered verification at 320, 375, 430, 768, 1024, and 1440 CSS pixels preserved the source's 0.75 width-to-height ratio at every size. The computed image treatment is object-fit: contain with an automatic aspect ratio, and both the document and body widths matched each viewport without horizontal overflow.
The adjacent Resistance explanation is top-aligned with the infographic on multi-column layouts so the section label begins at the same visual edge as the image. Single-column mobile layouts retain their normal image-then-copy reading order.
The Conspiracy page also presents the infographic at its complete portrait aspect ratio rather than cropping it into the shared landscape evidence-banner frame. Its width is capped on larger screens to keep the full image legible without overwhelming the page, while narrow screens use the available content width.
