title: Samuel's lie to Konrad
gate: What exact false account makes Konrad believe Sylvan and the new Luminai can be taken on Konrad's terms?

BA-02: Samuel's lie to Konrad
Purpose
Give the reverse mystery one precise false proposition that Samuel can support, protect, and eventually lose.
Established
Samuel keeps Konrad in containment by lying about what Sylvan and the new-generation Luminai really are. Konrad believes his older model of hierarchy and Daemon control can win the genuine largest-empire prize. The exact lie and evidence remain open.
The lie has a historical precedent. After the Great War, Samuel presents restored autonomy while Konrad reactivates his group's programs inside a structure where Samuel has earlier priority. Konrad's attempted recovery becomes the route through which Samuel reaches the restored organization. Samuel's jealousy of Konrad's public presence and claimed divinity gives him a reason to target the institution that supports that identity.

Four possibilities
- Incomplete bond: Samuel claims Sylvan's Luminai is powerful but structurally dependent and therefore transferable through Sylvan's submission.
- Engineered claimant: Samuel claims Sylvan was produced as a controllable succession instrument rather than an independently protected participant.
- Hidden compatibility: Samuel claims Konrad's older Daemon architecture can absorb or command the new bond once Sylvan crosses the BA-01 threshold.
- Layered lie: Samuel combines a true technical difference, a false weakness, and selectively authentic records so Konrad reaches the wrong conclusion himself.
New continuity pressure
The earlier autonomy lie and the later Sylvan lie should feel like the same method under different conditions: concede a true local capability, hide the governing boundary, and let Konrad's preferred interpretation perform the rest. The exact historical alpha mechanism remains unresolved and cannot be treated as unlimited control.
Central author gate
What exactly does Samuel tell Konrad about Sylvan and the new Luminai, what genuine evidence makes the claim credible, and which concealed truth would have caused Konrad to reject the plan or leave containment?
Scene test
The reader can state Samuel's claim in one sentence, see why Konrad believes it, and later identify the specific evidence that destroys it.
Adversarial test
If Konrad believes only because he is arrogant, the deception underserves his intelligence. If every part of Samuel's account is false, the lie is too easy to disprove and cannot plausibly survive for decades.
