Konrad Fitzgerald — Writing and Drawing Samples

Use and authority

This library tests a possible hand and diagram system for Konrad. It does not settle whether he personally writes every ledger entry, and none of the lines is a canonical quotation, decree, or event record.

Hand construction

• Large upright chancery-influenced hand, broad but not ornamental, with nearly vertical slant and an immovable baseline.
• Broad-nib contrast: deliberate dark downstrokes and thinner horizontal strokes. Pressure remains controlled; anger appears as impressed paper and blade-like terminals.
• Capitals occupy nearly two line heights. K has a long lower arm, F a high double bar, and R a rigid diagonal leg.
• Lowercase forms are separated enough to remain ceremonial. t is crossed high and short; i dots sit directly above; final d ends vertically rather than looping.
• Numeral 1 is a plain pillar; 4 is closed; 7 is uncrossed; Roman numerals appear in ranks but never as decorative pseudo-history.
• Punctuation is terminal: periods are heavy squares, colons introduce classifications, and parentheses are avoided.
• Corrections are recopied when possible. In an active ledger, one clean rule cancels a line, followed by a dated replacement and, when relevant, an attestation space.

Exact transcription set:

Writing drill — defeat denial

Exact transcription set:

1. Withdrawal completed. Authority retained.
2. Losses are confined to the concluded phase.
3. Implementation has transferred; command has not.
4. The reduced territory is the more disciplined territory.
5. Dependence upon an instrument does not elevate the instrument.
6. Restoration begins with correct classification.

These are rhetorical style exercises, not settled statements from an in-story document.

Emotional-state bands

Command

Wide top margin, centered heading, one declarative line, then ranked supporting clauses. Every diagram descends from the heading.

Contempt

Sentences shorten. Names are replaced by role categories. The hand stays beautiful, but terminal strokes deepen and the attestation area may be left conspicuously blank.

Sample: The outsider is assigned. He is not admitted.

Defeat renamed

The heading grows larger while verified quantities beneath it shrink. Euphemistic nouns remain perfectly written; numerical columns are accurate enough to reveal the contradiction.

Isolated reaffirmation

Borders thicken, classifications multiply, and obsolete titles are repeated. Sparse pages become claustrophobic because the same few boxes are ruled again inside one another.

Sample: Recognition delayed is not authority diminished.

Drawing sample library

1. Line of descent: a single thick vertical trunk with numbered lateral branches.
2. Rank stair: offices arranged in descending rectangles, each smaller than the one above.
3. Sanction bracket: a heavy right bracket encloses approved names; removed names sit beyond a ruled boundary.
4. Duty table: lineage, office, obligation, and attestation in formal columns.
5. Territorial command grid: regions placed by administrative rank rather than physical geography.
6. Audience classification: believer, recruit, wavering member, useful outsider, dissenter, and removed person in fixed rows.
7. Continuity seal space: an intentionally blank cartouche reserved for an unresolved ownership mark.
8. Phase diagram: setbacks redrawn as sequential completed stages on one descending axis.
9. Root-and-branch abstraction: geometric, not botanical; one central base supports sanctioned numbered lines.
10. Delegation chain: authority arrows point downward; reports point upward but never alter the top box.
11. Attestation ladder: signatures or marks must accumulate in prescribed order.
12. Shrinking realm ledger: stable triumphant headings paired with narrower occupied-area bars.

Unique writing–drawing combinations

Declaration as load-bearing beam

The page begins with a centered sentence in capitals. A vertical rule descends directly from it into every rank, branch, or territory. The drawing exists as the declared sentence made structural.

Category replaces person

A name appears once in prose, then is copied into a rigid role box. Later references use only the box label. Konrad's page visually absorbs individuality into collective order.

Victory above the numbers

A large heading claims continuation or completion; beneath it, meticulous material counts document collapse. Konrad's denial is legible through contradiction, not messy handwriting.

The excluded correction

Counterevidence appears outside the ruled main field as a subordinate notation, never permitted to change the center. The page plan itself demonstrates his inability to accept correction.

Page-composition samples

4. Great War phase ledger where accurate losses sit beneath an undefeated heading.

Forensic fingerprint cluster

Use at least five features: square periods; high short t bar; direct i dot; uncrossed 7; closed 4; broad-nib contrast; almost no parentheses; one-rule cancellation; centered all-capital headings; vertical authority axis; attestation spaces; classifications ordered by rank rather than time.

Samuel may imitate the capitals and declaration spacing. Authorship comparison must also examine pressure, tool width, ruling sequence, correction practice, and whether the diagram genuinely reasons downward from doctrine or merely performs that appearance.
