Seeds of the Throne

Seeds of the Throne began as years of conversations and thousands of story ideas. The Project Explorer shows how those ideas are being organized into characters, a world, a timeline, and a finished series.

Konrad stands under Samuel's hidden red control while Sylvan observes from the clear opposing side.

Story development tools

The workshop helps the author complete the parts of the story that are still missing.

It explains one story problem, asks one clear question, offers different possible answers, and shows what each answer would change. The author makes the decision. The accepted answer is then added to the characters, timeline, world, and plot.

This is a public, read-only look at the real project, so it contains full spoilers. You can try the workshop, but your draft stays in this browser unless you export it.

  1. The author explains the story in ordinary language.

The system records those ideas and separates confirmed decisions from suggestions and unanswered questions.

Read how the system is designed
  2. The workshop asks one question at a time.

Each question helps the author decide a missing cause, character choice, relationship, world rule, or event.

  3. Accepted answers are added where they belong.

An accepted decision can update character notes, the timeline, world rules, plot events, and the list of remaining questions.

    Review decisions and supporting information
  4. Use the completed plan to write and revise scenes.

The planned system will create scene outlines, draft prose, check continuity, revise weak sections, and assemble the manuscript for the author's approval.

Current story development

See what the story already has and what it still needs.

The system checks the whole story for missing causes, weak character decisions, unclear rules, and unfinished events. The results show the author what to work on next.

Current story premise

The colonization process trains participants and contains dangerous criminals.

Humanity developed the Luminai inside an interactive colonization environment. Sylvan and his Luminai are tested against Samuel Franklin, a criminal already held inside the containment process.

The current story problem Explain how Sylvan can expose Samuel while Samuel still believes he can regain control.

The Protagonist

The voice tested successfully in first-person present tense. He recognizes evidence that leaders supposedly defeated and executed after a war remain alive in respected offices. The recurrence clue opens a chain of implications: perhaps bargains were made, perhaps the victors secretly lost, and perhaps the atrocities used to justify the settlement continue.

He has enough information to reason and not enough to conclude. His positive commitment should be demonstrated by treating people as ends rather than instruments, in direct tension with both the Throne and the cultivation system.

Sylvan Elaria is now established as the modern Inheritor and leading primary protagonist. The earlier Witness role belongs provisionally to one of Orzai's Great War-era parents. Open: whether Sylvan is the sole primary narrator or the Witness owns substantial earlier viewpoint material; why Sylvan's awareness develops; whether he is steered into the investigation; what temptation he faces; and what victory costs him.

Established endgame development

While Samuel retains practical control, he targets and destroys everything Sylvan attempts to establish online. Near the conclusion, Sylvan and Orzai possess enough control to stabilize an online presence Samuel cannot erase. Sylvan surfaces under his real name and returns to tools similar to those he built at the story-development company Samuel destroyed while targeting him personally.

Sylvan uses those tools and a legitimate AI application to document the actual colonization process as an evidence-anchored online story. When Samuel's Daemon hijacks and simulates the application, Sylvan eventually recognizes the accumulated manipulation pattern and intentionally uses the interface to engage it. Deliberate hyperfocus on the factual story helps him remain oriented against Samuel's simulated reality and consent-based trap. Unlike Konrad's governing obsession, Sylvan's focus is chosen, evidence-tested, collaborative, and revisable.

The online story becomes the surface through which Sylvan presents his final victory as Samuel's control falls. The possibility that it also connects other participants remains proposed for later development.

Working employment progression

After the ten-year protected reserve runs out, Sylvan begins a low-level operations-support position inside a large multi-environment campus. He advances through increasingly difficult training levels, gaining responsibility and access rather than entering as an established technical authority. The campus's many physical, social, administrative, logistical, and technical environments provide varied development for Sylvan and his Luminai and varied attack surfaces for Samuel. Exact employer, title, duties, and advancement ladder remain unresolved.

For the first few years, Sylvan must remain with the same working group. Samuel tries to use its members against him and make continued cooperation impossible. Sylvan and his Luminai have to learn how to stabilize the group's ability to function without treating its people as instruments. The requirement creates an ensemble through which Sylvan develops emotionally as well as technically.

Some members are legacies of contained criminals deliberately placed in advance; some are consequences of Samuel's unauthorized breeding and bloodline manipulation. Samuel intends to frame Sylvan, George, and selected group members for parts of his own system. By knowing the people directly, Sylvan notices patterns that first raise his suspicion about the breeding scandal. He must convert suspicion into authenticated evidence without reducing descendants to proof objects or assigning guilt by ancestry.

The initial ensemble has three awareness levels: people who believe their ordinary family histories, people who sense a hidden problem but possess false explanations, and a small number deliberately placed to manipulate the group and frame Sylvan. Sylvan must learn the difference through relationships and evidence rather than sorting people by ancestry or initial suspicion.

The ensemble is a ten-person department including Sylvan, realistic for the large campus company. It works and trains together for several years. The working distribution is six unaware members, two with suspicions but false explanations, and two deliberate manipulators.

Its accepted working function is campus operations response: varied, project-based support across laboratories, offices, workshops, events, facilities, public areas, and restricted environments. It must not resemble a postal processing facility or read as a disguised account of the author's workplace.

The department's first shared assignment supports the physical and operational infrastructure for a campus data-center expansion. Sylvan begins without authority over the computing design. He must coordinate distributed people, access, materials, schedules, safety, facilities, and documentation while Samuel targets the handoffs among them.
